Creating peace for 60 years

In 1946, the former Caux-Palace Hotel in the Swiss village of Caux opened its doors to the world as an international conference centre for Initiatives of Change (then known as Moral Re-Armament). Sixty years on, each Northern summer the Caux assembly draws between 1400 and 2000 people of all walks of life to be part of a continuous series of conferences dealing with specific subjects. It is at Caux that many of the Initiatives of Change programmes are developed.

After the election of a new President and the approval of its accounts 2011, on the occasion of its Council meeting in Geneva, the Foundation CAUX-Initiatives of Change (IofC) will experience many challenges and opportunities in the coming months.

A group from Initiatives of Change gave a presentation of its work at the national conference of AIESEC Switzerland, the Swiss branch of the world’s largest student-run organization (AIESEC, Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales) with over 50,000 members at the end of March in Leysin.

The Caux Challenge is an opportunity for individuals to take steps towards being the change they wish to see in the world. Over one week in May, participants are invited to challenge themselves by undertaking an activity aimed at inspiring us all to make a change, in our families, communities, countries – and to thereby be part of a coalition of conscience working towards human security for all.
