Please enquire if you need a Visa from:The nearest Swiss Consulate or the Swiss Federal Office for Migration list on their website; the Swiss Federal Office for Migration list on their website; your travel agent.
If you need a Swiss Visa, and you are accepted as a Caux Artist, your application to stay must reach the Conference Secretariat at least ten weeks prior to your arrival at Caux.
Caux is 1.5 hours by car or train from Geneva and 25 minutes from Montreux. Hourly direct trains run from Geneva Airport to Montreux from 06.07 to 23.23. The last through connection to Caux leaves Geneva Airport at 19.09. Train cost is 44 CHF one way.
You are housed in a shared room in the Conference Center, or occasionally in a nearby house if the main house is very busy, and invariably in a same sex room.
The Caux Artist Program may, in certain circumstances, cover the extra cost of a Caux Artist arriving early or staying beyond the end of the dates specified for the program. However, unless you have the prior agreement of the Caux Artists Program to stay for a longer period, you will be required to cover the cost of any additional days. For young people from 16-23 and artists/students the daily cost is CHF 55.- / € 34.- For all others, it is CHF 92.- / € 58. In all cases, the possibility of staying longer will depend on room availability.
CAP encourages applicants to fundraise. Some participants may be able to get funding from their universities. Others may be sponsored by NGO’s, places of worship, or local clubs, such as the Rotary Club. The CAP has funds for approximately 12 Scholarships to be awarded on a need basis. If applicants need further information regarding funding contact CAP.
CAP does not underwrite travel expenses.
CAP has a rolling admission, which means that the sooner you apply, the sooner you will hear. Those applying before February 1, 2013, can expect to hear by March 1, 2013. We will respond as soon as possible to applications made later than that date.
Busy! What with classes and rehearsals, service opportunities , meetings with interesting visitors over meals, and music, theatre and dance performances in the evenings, there are often too many great choices! Artists may also choose to sit out under the stars, go for a mountain hike at dawn, or walk to the waterfall .
Students should contact their own universities, or work with a professor, to ascertain whether they can get credit for independent study. There are usually additional requirements.
Applications are received via post or e-mail. Recommendation letters and transcripts can also be sent via post or e-mail.
