To find a preventive strategy that could tackle the root causes of insecurity and save millions of lives will require unprecedented trust and collaboration among all nations and actors. The Caux Forum for Human Security seeks this trust and collaboration.
The first annual Caux Forum, in July 2008, brought together some 300 people to address the ‘root causes’ of human insecurity under six headings: social and economic conditions, armed conflicts, environmental factors, good governance and the rule of law, wounded memories, religious and cultural dimensions. They included those working at the 'grassroots' and leaders in their respective fields.
A 'Caux Call to Action' was launched at the third Forum in 2010.
