Background
Foundations for Freedom (F4F) was created in 1993 as a programme for training and developing young leaders in Central and Eastern Europe. The program fosters commitment to the values which underlie a truly free society at all levels of government and civic life.
Aim
It aims to serve as a world-wide resource for individuals and organisations who seek to transform their societies and themselves.
How and Where
Its main activity consists of courses, workshops and follow-up activities, mainly in Eastern Europe, which support the development of individuals and teams. Emphasis is placed on training E Europeans to run the courses and nurturing and supporting teams to the point where they are capable of initiating, directing and sustaining their own projects.
Since 1993, F4F has delivered over 50 training courses for young adults in many countries of the former Soviet bloc. The course is now being offered in the UK and in other parts of the world. It is tailored to meet local needs and to reflect the current social climate.
Countries where F4F has run courses include: Ukraine, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Belarussia, Slovakia, Sweden, UK and Canada.
