Rajmohan Gandhi, a former President of Initiatives of Change International, was a speaker this month in a debate at the Oxford Union on ‘This house regrets the Partition of India’. Other speakers included former Indian Minister of External Affairs Salman Khurshid; Ashis Ray, India’s longest-serving foreign correspondent; and historian Professor Mridula Mukherjee. Nearly 300 students came to hear the debate, many of them with Pakistani or Indian heritage.

CoP Circle for young people in Western Nepal

Creators of Peace partnered with World Education International to hold a Peace Circle for young people in Batase Dada, Palpa. This was the first Peace Circle ever conducted in the western part of Nepal, where development is very limited.

CoP Colombia & Agape por Colombia

Creators of Peace and Agape por Colombia teamed up to hold a Creators of Peace Circle in Meta, Villavicencio. Combining philosophies and techniques used by both organizations, they brought healing and a new beginning to the women who took part.

The tenth Peace Circle was held at the headquarters of Initiatives of Change Brazil, located in the beautiful city of Petrópolis.

For too many men, gender equality of opportunity at the workplace may not seem to be a sustainability issue for business. But Shishir Joshipura of SKF corporation insists that ‘a car needs all four wheels. You can’t drive it on two. You can’t exclude half of humanity.’ Joshipura, the country head in India for the Swedish ball bearings company, says that when he was appointed to the role in 2009 only one in 25 managers was a woman. Today 18 of the 25 top managers are women in a company that touches people’s lives ‘from first thing in the morning till night’ through household appliances.


Toto is a young man from Nagaland, a state in North East India. Thanks to a gift from IofC friends he has been able to study music and buy a vehicle for transporting students to and from remote villages in order to pursue his dream of enabling music to bring about healing.
