Blogging has not been at the top of my priority list the last month, owing to our move to Sweden - hence the silence.
It has been a remarkably stressful last few weeks, since a last-minute legal issue arose over our house sale which has delayed things badly. It has been hard to move to Sweden leaving an empty, unsold house in Oxford - but we had little alternative to proceeding since we had booked removals and ferries. We are hopeful that things will conclude with the sale in the next week or two.
It seems that everyone goes through times of testing. This is another time of testing for us, as we hold onto the belief that we are meant to enter into this new phase in our lives....
Elisabeth keeps a five-year-diary. It means that most of the time when she writes a new entry she can look back easily to see what happened on that day the year before, or even earlier. But this year she has started a new book, and was remarking that there is something symbolic about this. She can no longer glance back to her entry of the year before. It is as though we are being asked to look only forward.
Which does not mean that the past is not important, with all its experiences, lessons, memories. But at times it seems that we all need to keep our eyes firmly on the future, without too readily looking backwards.
