Creators of Peace will be undertaking a data collection & impact evaluation project to help us review some specific aspects of our work to date and assemble the information we need to support our fundraising, communication and training. We are looking for someone(s) for a short-term period of 12-20 days of work starting immediately to support outreach, interviews and the development of a new system.

The Egyptian Moral Re-Armament (IofC) Cultural Committee organized an Arab Moral Re-Armament youth event, 'A Better Me for a Better World' that took place 12 to 18 April in Cairo. The objective of the meeting was to build new cultural bridges and collaborate together to produce sustainable and lasting relationships. Delegates from Lebanon and Tunisia met with 50 Egyptians of all ages, all of whom were concerned with the role youth play in changing the future for the better by changing oneself first.

The Malaga Charter to promote sustainable development and social justice, which Initiatives of Change helped to draft, was launched at the New Economy and Social Innovation (NESI) Forum in Malaga, Spain, on 20 April. Initiatives of Change's TIGE programme (Trust and Integrity in the Global Economy) was one of the partners in launching the charter at the four-day event.

Moral Rearmament was registered in Tanzania in 1995 having been active for years prior to that. Yet for a number of years since, it has been largely quiet. On 25 - 27 April, Initiatives of Change (IofC) facilitators from Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa/UK delivered training in Dodoma, Tanzania to renew the energy and commitment of the existing IofC team and introduce IofC to new members.

Two young Dutch Muslims cycled all the way from the Netherlands to Mecca on a wooden bike, to raise awareness about sustainability within Islam. It was the result of a close friendship that started six years before at the international conference centre of Initiatives of Change in Caux. ‘With our trip we hope to inspire young Muslims in a practical and personal way.

Australia experienced a social revolution in the 1970s and 1980s, as I realised as when I listened to a doctor I met in Krakow last week. One of the many Australians who worked for this change of approach was the Polish Australian sociologist, Jerzy Zubrzycki, who grew up near Krakow. He gave such influential leadership that he is known widely as the ‘father of Australian multiculturalism’. On 11 April, 140 people packed the conference room of Krakow’s International Cultural Centre for the launch of the Polish edition of his biography.
